Inclusion, Narrative and Its Reception Perceptions of Diversity in American Animation (2019-2025)

Abstract

The article critically examines social inclusion and cultural representation in contemporary creative industry productions, from a perspective focused on symbolic reception by diverse audiences. Through a qualitative approach and analysis of selected cases, patterns are identified that generate debates and tensions between the idealized cultural vision and marginalized voices. The results show that, although there have been advances in making diverse identities visible, significant gaps persist in the way different social groups perceive and appropriate these representations. These findings allow for a critical reflection on the concept of social inclusion in cultural contexts, contributing to debates on more equitable and reflective creative practices.
