Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents a brief analysis of the evolution of design throughout history, showing how its processes have adapted to new requirements as the discipline specializes, responding to diverse needs and social, economic and political contexts. The article presents the structure of the methods and tools traditionally used in graphic design, but also inquiriesabout those used in the new practices of the discipline, with the purpose of building a new methodological process linked to the practice of design for the future, having as fundamental bases the methodologies used in the studies of the future applied in Latin America and the speculative practices established in the design, all these inputs analyzed from bibliographic sources and taken to the experimentation in the class of design for the future using methodological models applied in other countries of Latin America and that allowed to establish a methodological proposal proper of the career of graphic design of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE).
