Interactive Costume ¿Art or Technology?
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present investigation will analyze two works that intersect various fields of art, as well as new technologies. First, we will refer to the work Warning: A Wearable Electronic Dress Prototype (2014), whose concept and development prototype belong to Kristen Weller and Rodrigo Carvalho. Secondly, it will also analyze AUDFIT (2014), an interactive audio and dance costume whose concept is by Patryk Lichota. Both works have in common the use of technology, programming, sound, and movement; they are pieces that should be used as a suit and made to wear. In this sense, I propose that both can be analyze under the categories art and intermedia to study how they are artistic. We will compare the elements that make up the works in detail, as well as the definition of their own concepts and fields. Due to this, this paper also proposes to analyze whether they are intermediary pieces and why.
