History

Designio. Investigación en diseño gráfico y estudios de la imagen is a scientific publication in the fields of graphic design and image studies, published biannually (April-September and October-March) since 2019 by the Faculty of Engineering and Related Sciences of the Fundación Universitaria San Mateo.

The name Design evokes the Latin bases of the word design that is framed in the interpretation of the sign, the act of designating, but above all that of imagining.

Thematic areas

Designio. Investigación en diseño gráfico y estudios de la imagen carries out scientific publications aimed at professionals, researchers, teachers, scholarship holders and postgraduate students in the following subject areas:

• Philosophy or museography (interdisciplinary reflection, with a critical and committed perspective)

Open access

Designio. Investigación en diseño gráfico y estudios de la imagen is committed to preserving the environment, which is why it is published digitally through the open access platform: Open Journal System –OJS; which allows the consolidation of efficient editorial management for each phase and actor involved in the publication process.

• It does not generate any payment to the authors for article processing costs (APC), nor charges for article shipping.
• Likewise, the online subscription is free and free.

The authors of Designio. Investigación en diseño gráfico y estudios de la imagen studies provide the circulation of their contents to the Fundación Universitaria San Mateo through a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDeriv 4.0 license that allows third parties to share the work as long as its author and its first publication are indicated in this magazine . However, the generation of derivative works or commercial use of the original work is not allowed, that is, only non-commercial uses and purposes are possible.

Both the authors and readers of Designio magazine. Research in graphic design and image studies, adhere to the rules of open access to content and the double-blind review system carried out by a Commission of Experts (referees) guided by an International Scientific Committee; thus allowing agile and pertinent publication decisions according to the explicit declaration of editorial ethics.
