Image Creation in Graphic Designers Teaching Processes in Virtual and Face-to-Face Environments
Main Article Content
Abstract
The image is a fundamental component in graphic design practice; the quality and impact of visual messages in the commercial context depend on it. Teaching focused on image creation proves to be one of the main challenges faced by university education. The objective of this research is to investigate the quality of teaching in both face-to-face (in the classroom) and virtual (distance) environments, and their comparative impact on the creation of effective images; this will help identify shortcomings and propose improvements that contribute to promoting the training of designers. To achieve this, this paper followed a quantitative descriptive approach to identify trends based on opinions. For this purpose, it used non-probabilistic and convenience sampling, applied to graphic design students from universities in Mexico and Colombia, and the instrument was a digital questionnaire. In the evaluation phase, the aim was to identify the perception of the quality of learning obtained in both modalities, supported by a comparative analysis. The results reveal advantages and disadvantages in both models, indicating that learning becomes relative according to several factors and variables inherent to and dependent on each individual.
